We received an allegation that two proposals (Proposal1 1 and Proposal 22) authored by
different individuals (PI-1 3 and PI-2 4) contained identical text and figures. Our review found that
while identical text and figures did appear in the proposals, the common material was minimal,
was background to the proposals' unique proposed projects, and was acknowledged and/or
referenced to PI-1 within Proposal2. Additionally, we found that Proposal2 contained a letter of
support/collaboration from PI-1. We determined PI-I and PI-2 collaborated on the common
material and that no plagiarism occurred.
Accordingly, this case is closed with no further action taken.
