A university 1 notified us that it had conducted an inquiry and was proceeding with an investigation.
The subject2 allegedly deprived a graduate student3 of appropriate credit by omitting him as an
author of a published paper that was related to a patent on which the graduate student was listed
as a co-inventor. The university concluded the paper and patent discussed different aspects of the
research, and the graduate student's work was not significant!y represented in the paper. We concur
with the university. Accordingly, this case is closed.
