Case Number: 1-16-0056-0 Page 1of1

We initiated this case to investigate an allegation that an NSF program director 1 violated conflict
of interest (COi) rules by processing proposals and managing awards to a university2 from which
he/she was seeking employment. Based on a review of the program director's NSF emails and
interview with the program director, we determined the program director declared a COi when
he/she applied for a job at that university. There was no evidence of a COi prior to the job
application. We also reviewed proposal and award data in eJ acket and confirmed that the
program director did not take any actions on that university's proposals and awards once he/she
        declared the COL

        Accordingly, this case is closed.
