We conducted an investigation of an employee 1 and her husband 2 at a university3 who had
charged personal travel and expenses to an NSF award. 4 We determined there were also other
unallowable costs charged to the award. The university returned funds to NSF for all the
unallowable charges and implemented new policies and procedures to avoid future issues.
Accordingly, this case is closed.
